Green coffee

Most of our coffee originates from smallholder farmers. We source two different types of coffee: Arabica and Robusta coffee. 

The Arabica cherries are handpicked by our smallholders to ensure cherries are only harvested when they have ripened. After harvest, the cherries are washed at a CPU and dried on drying tables in the beautiful Tanzanian sun. At Lima’s factory, the dried beans are screened in our processing facility and hand-picked to remove defects.

All smallholder Arabica coffee originates from Rungwe, Ileje and Mbinga regions. We also produce Arabica coffee on Elton farm where our processing facility is located. Recently, we started a new project in the Kagera region where our smallholders produce Robusta coffee.
